I think it would be so great if this site had a chatroom. There are times when it would be wonderful to have the opportunity to talk, live with other members. It would be like an instant comfort to those of us who are home alone and just need someone to talk to right then. Just an idea....... does anyone else agree?

I totally agree. It would feel even more like you weren't fighting this alone. If there's any way this could happen, I'd definitely support it. Good idea, Samantha!

I'm with you guys! "HEY MODERATORS we want a chat room"! We would all probably get so involved in chatting that we would forget that we were in a panic. Lisa

Good Afternoon Members, We at The Panic Center feel that a chat line would create discussions that would not pertain to panic or anxiety. This is a extremely busy site were people from all over the world post their questions and concerns with regards to panic and anxiety. If you want to find a chat room, you may have to try a search engine like Yahoo or Goggle. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us anytime at [email protected].
Respectfully, Melanie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Becky, I have almost decided that there are no chat rooms pertaining to panic/anxiety disorder.I have been searching for a long time. A few weeks ago I thought I'd found one but when I finally got registered and logged into the room, I introduced myself and asked a question. I was told that they didn't discuss their problems in there. I asked, "isn't this a panic and anxiety sufferers group?" I was told, "yes it is but we dont allow anyone to talk about it." I thought that was incredibly stupid to call the group that and not talk about it at all. You can chat casually in any chat room. That really disappointed me. That is no help at all. If I knew that enough members here would be interested in using a chat room I would look into setting one up myself. Let me know what you think.

I have come across two chat rooms that do permit talking about anxiety and panic, they will even tell you if your in a midst of an attack, to help calm you down if your edgy or nervous. However, we aren't permitted to get any other website links for such.
Melanie, is it possible that I can post my email, to direct some of these people to either chat room? I would get it to you personally if you wish, that it is strictly chatrooms for panic, that you can verify its a legitimate chat site before you would allowed me to post my email. I know it has helped me many times when I was on edge to drop in, for others to ask what symptoms I was having, and start asking what I had been doing, reassure in times of fear, in those hours of needing to talk to a live person right then.

Trish,
There exists what we call mailbots or spambots that do nothing but roam the Internet looking for email addresses to send you spam mail. Although the information you submit when you sign up is private and protected, what you type into a post is public and there for the asking. Therefore if you post your email address or real name, those mailbots will pick up that information.
If you are an individual who does not like mail or spambots then please refrain from posting your real name or e-mail address within the site.
Hope this helps , Melanie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team
