Just thought I would post this as a little encouragment to other people that have the same fears I do.
I had decided to go to my brothers for dinner, and I knew it was going to mean panicking the whole time on the highway. The day of the dinner, I woke up feeling spaced out and really anxious. I thought the day was a scrub, but I decided to tough it out and try. After almost getting off the highway from intense panic, my girlfriend talked me onward and I was able to continue. I made it there and home. Sure, I had alot of anxious moments; But I went through them and past them.
Hope that might inspire someone. You CAN do it. It's not always comfortable, but you can. *s*

Good for you for working through it and past it. It takes a great deal of courage so give yourself a huge pat on the back for all of your efforts.

I just want to say YAY for you. I have not driven on a freeway in about 10 years. It's my biggest phobia. It's so good to hear others have it and are working on successfully overcoming it.
