Hello all - Happy to report a weekend filled mostly with success. I had to fly from DC to Indiana to pick up a van. In the past I have been given .50 Xanax for flight anxiety to take only when I needed to (before my PD was diagnosed). This trip involved a connecting flight onto one of those uncomfortable two-propeller mosquitoes for short hops. I made the trip on only a split half of a .25 and enjoyed the experience. No nerves at all.

The odd part came later on during the drive. I found it difficult to take the wheel for more than two hours before feeling episodic, and when my wife drove - may she forgive me for writing this - I was actually too scared during the drive to experience an attack. Does this sound possible? I started having small episodes when I drove, but sat in abject fear when she drove without a single symptom.

I'm not going to overanalyze it, because doing so sets off an episode. I'll just be glad I made the trip without a major blowout. Thanks for the positive thoughts along the way.

congrats...these success' build on each other and your brain is literally reprogrammed out of panic disorder after a number of success'. the driving thing is probably related to sitting back and thinking as opposed to doing, which sometimes causes us to panic. I think, overtime, as you get better, this will fade....Im hoping to get there myself...Michael

Hurray for you!!!
And yes, I have gone so deep into fear that the only way to
describe it would be catatonic.  So immobilized by fear I
couldn't "feel" any symptoms.  I'm fairly certain I wouldn't have
felt a needle poke in me either....

But man you're great.  I can't even get on the road to the
airport, let alone on a plane!  Feel Good be proud.
