I dont know why but the evil anxiety fog seems to lifting from me. Yesterday was anxiety free and this morning I feel really good. I found pleasure in some of my hobbies that had fallen by the wayside over the last two days. I noticed that I have begun to have feelings for my old activities and have begun to get back into some of my old habits (good habits)

The pervasive thoughts that cause me such misery are fleeting now. They may appear but only for a brief second, and I think of them no more than a passing thought about what to have for lunch.  In fact, try as I might, I cannot even force myself to focus on them for an extended period.

Im not sure the cause of this new found relief but I can outline what I have been doing over the past month. Maybe a clue lies there.

I started a vitamin and mineral program. Some of the contents of the home made supplement include...St. John's Wort, Vitamin C, a multi vitamin, zinc and several others I cant recall right now. I know I have a handfull in the morning and another in the evening.

I got a natural healing guidebook and looked up anxiety in the index. There was an entire section on anxiety and what natural remedies were available. I bought most of them (the ones they said were very important) and divide them into AM/PM doses by putting them in labeled plastic film containers. I just look for the label that says Wednesday Morning, dump the pills into my hand and away I go. I sort them each Sunday for the entire week.

I stopped my Xanax and started using Klonopin. 1mg at bedtime with some Melatonin and I sleep all night. I think lack of sleep is a huge contributor to anxiety.

I listen to a "visualization" exercise each night before going to sleep. Sometimes I use the one from Charles Linden and sometimes I use others I have. They are a great help but I cant take the same one over and over.

I have been reading books by Dr. Albert Ellis on Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. Currently I am reading "A guide to rational living". These books are also very helpful and insightful.

I am staying out of "stressful" situations. If I feel just a little anxious about a planned activity, I simply dont go. This works wonders. I relive the stress and empower myself at the same time. I have found that since doing this I am actually able to do MORE things because I know I can just say no if I feel uncomfortable.

So, those are the main things I have been doing and although Im not sure which one is the hero, something seems to be working...for the moment anyway.

Everyone have a great day today!
