Since I'm good at whining about the bad things, I wanted to tell you all about the good thing that's happened this week.  I've been on Lexapro for a week and a half now, and I do believe that it's starting to help.  Wednesday and Thursday I went to work and was able to drive over 100 miles each night - feeling NORMAL!!!!!!!  Instead of creeping along at 35 mph like I have been, I went 55 a couple times!  I also didn't spend time worrying that I wouldn't make it through the next delivery.  I was able to drive around and think of other things instead of 'how do I feel now'.  We were busy each night til way after closing, that usually sends me into a fit, but it didn't happen.  Another thing that I noticed is that when I feel nervous, I tend to listen to more 'talk' radio, and when I'm feeling good, I listen to music.  I blasted music all night long both nights, except for listening to Dr Laura for a bit!  It had been driving me nuts about how slow I'd been driving, it was stupid.  Then I'd get people backed up behind me and that would make me even more nervous!  Last night I caught myself wishing the people ahead of me would speed up.  I had really been hating taking the long deliveries, it was too much time alone to think.  But last night I got stuck with a bunch of them and it was fine.  I can't believe how normal I've felt.  I've had moments of doubt, of course, but they pass and don't spiral out of control.  I pray that this keeps up, I can be so much more effective when I feel normal at work.  I had been so discouraged about all the meds that I've tried lately, had to quit them all because of side effects.  But I stuck it out with this one and I do believe that it's helping.  It makes it easier to change my thoughts.  Just wanted to share the good instead of just the bad!

Hopeful

I am so happy for you being able to drive without fear again!!! How is it going? I am in the slowest-on-the-highway category at the moment. I hate it so much! Thinking about the next bend on the road, stressing about going downhill, looking in the rear view mirror and getting a fright each time I see all those cars piling up behind me, being scared that I will hit my breaks full on and that the other cars will just drive right into me! Oh boy, I am happy that soemone managed to break through that negative situation. It shows me that there is hope.

Congratulations!
Bianca
