Hi, my name is Laura Bock.  I am 24 years old & have been suffering from panic attacks for the past 3 years.  Since March, everything has gotten worse.  My father-in-law broke his neck then & he was transfered to Atlanta to a rehab center their and my husband & I, my sister-in-law, have been traveling their almost every weekend.  This is when they are the worst.  I thought I was just homesick at first, but I don't think that's the case now.

I have been researching on the internet about 2 different programs to help deal with and supposidley CURE anxiety/depression.  The first program being Midwest Center for Anxiety & Depression & the other program is The Linden Method.  I have heard good & bad about the Linden Method, but nothing about the other.

Has anyone went through Linda Basset's progrom fromt the Midwest Center?  If so, could you please give me feedback as to if it helped you or not.

Thank you,

Laura Bock

Hi Laura I've heard the program works but it is very expensive. Why don't you try the program on this site? It's cognitive behavioural therapy,it works and it's free!!

Hi Laura,
I have not been through Lucinda Bassett's program but I have read her book "From Panic To Power". The book tells you some of the same things that the full program will tell you. I suggest reading her book & then desciding if you still want the tapes, they are pretty expensive. (Around $700.00 I think) Also I called the Midwest Center & they sent me some info & a sample tape that might help you descide before you spend the $$. "From Panic To Power" was the first book that I read about Panic Disorder after I started having panic attacks & I found it to be pretty helpful & I could really relate to most of it.
Good luck & I hope this helps.

How is this program free?  Do you have it and could you email it to me?

Thank you - L. Bock

Hi Laura,

You have come to the right place!  Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace.  If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at [email protected].  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Josie

Hi there,

I HAVE Luccinda's program AND the LINDEN METHOD program.  There are no secrets really, and certainly not worth the money in my opinion.  You get the same thing...but more, here for free!

There are no quick fixes, and they don't have the answers either.  What they did was start to work on the Cognitive Distortions (as mentioned here in the program) and found that a change in their THINKING was really the absolute KEY to being well.  I mean there are other common sense things too like avoid caffeine, exercise, etc but the bottom line is...when you have a panic attack and think AND feel like you are going to die, or go crazy, you AREN"T.  The sooner you can get yourself to believe this, the sooner the fear will be gone.

Cheers.
Danielle

Hi Laura,
I hope you're doing well. FYI: You can try the Midwest Center program for 30 days for $9.95 and send it back after that time if you choose. If you decide to keep it call them and tell them you want to return it anyway - They'll lower the price by $200.00. Good luck in all that you do! Smile

I get so upset that former anxiety sufferers that started midwest center and linden method would actually CHARGE $700....its like they are taking advantage of people who walked in their shoes......if I ever found a cure for panic I would give it away for free.....thats the least that I could do for others that have suffered like I.

I bought my Midwest Center Program off of Ebay. I am on Session 4.

I only paid $200.00 inc. shipping from the U.S and the program was not used and still in its original box. The workbook hadn't even been opened.

All I can say is that yes it is an excellent program.

I have never heard of the Linden Program.

In the past 4 weeks I have improved a great deal.
I started by reading the book from Panic To Power.

Good Luck

I have the Midwest Center tapes. I think Linda Bassett is a scam kinda. You can get the same thing here for free. I think the Midwest Center tries to appeal to panic sufferers and they charge an arm and a leg. Sad kinda to take advantage of sick people looking for an answer. Really truly, this site is almost the exact same thing. It talks a lot about nutrition, quitting smoking, no caffeine, exercise, etc. To me, anxiety comes from some insecurities or constant worrying. Doing some of those things are great stree relievers but you have to get to the source of the anxiety with therapy.

I also have the Midwest Center for Anxiety & Depression CD kit. I honestly did not find it that helpful, BUT, I did ALOT if self help research in the past five years. If you are NEW to Panic/Anxiety, I would recommend it. Yes it is expensive, my boyfriend purchased mine on the payment plan of $75/mo for the CD version. It's like $500 total. Go to eBay. They have the sets there for $100-300. Good Luck!
