Hi Ann,

Thank you so much for replying.  I totally have that - on one side of the roof of my mouth, and my tongue sometimes.  I have been ondering if it's postural or maybe my sinuses.  I have some sinus pressure, and I also sit very poorly at the computer, leaning on the my elbow same side where I get the pressure.  So my neck is often very scrunched up.

Ann, I'm having a hard time.

Hi folks,

I was just wondering whether anyone else had tried the EFT procedure yet and how they felt it.

How are you doing with it Kitcat?

Lawchick, I know how you feel.  Do you find that you clench your teeth alot too?  I tend to do this alot and then my gums also ache really bad.  Let me know how you are doing.

I have been using it...but I think whatever initial gains I had, they have sort of tapered off.
Maybe it makes a difference if you do it yourself, as opposed to a therapist?
I mean I think I have gone forward and have total comfort driving TO work, but so far, not on the freeway, just my alternate route. I need to force myself to get on the freeway over the weekend. Coming home, though, I drive the freeway, and experience minor discomfort.  So, for me, I am kind of wondering if I should continue with EOF, or maybe accept that this is the best it gets. HOW about you, Ann?
How are you progressing with it?

Hi Kitcat,

Well when I have been to see the therapist and she does the EFT then I feel brilliant for days after, then the anxiety starts to creep back in.  She said as soon as this happens to do the EFT on yourself till the rating goes down to 0.  I must admit that I have been feeling quite tense and anxious this week, but have been very stressed at work.

Let me know how you are doing though.

Take care xxx

Hi

I've just had my 2nd session over the phone.  Not been out yet so can't tell if it has worked....my main problem has been driving and a little agorpahobia.

What has beent he set up statement used for your driving issues....mine seemed to be related more to deeper issues than actual driving.

I dunno, I think the technique is useful, but for me, it's not the beall/endall solution. Wish it were. However, it did initially seem to reduce my anxiety with driving A LOT. And I seemed to have maintained that since I first used it. Now, I'm looking into the Charles Linden method. I'm not all that convinced, but he does offer a money back guarantee, so I may choose to take him up on his offer. He does, however, have a lot of disclaimers about his method. Probably due to liabitlies...I'll let you know if I go ahead with his method... Smile

Hi Everyone

My second session on EFT was yesterday and I had quite a stressful evening because of side effects from withdrawing from Celexa.  I therefore expected to have my usual troubles about driving when I took the children to school this morning.

Amazingly, I didn';t seem to have any of the normal anxiety..in fact I almost couldn't remember what it was that was making me anxious usually.  Almost too scared to think this might be a cure but the same happened this afternoon aswell.

As I have asked before what have your "SET UP" statements been when you had your treatment.  Mine were quite deep.

Hi Susan and Kitcat,

My therapist used general statements covering a lot of different aspects.  I must admit that some of mine where deep too.  She concentrates on one problem area until my fear rating goes down to 0 and then moves to another.  I still feel that it works, it is just that you need to do it on yourself whenever you feel the panic coming on.  I feel that it calms me down a lot.  Do you practice on yourself?

Kitcat, could you email me the linden method. [email protected]

Thanks

Thank you for your support.

My set up statements seemed to be to do with not feeling safe if I'm too far from home and not feeling that its safe to let go of my fears.

I am really really hoping this continues.  I will continue to practice.
