Hi Tina,
I would definitely suggest practicing yoga!! With major neck and shoulder tension weight training and cardio will most likely just add to the problem.  Yoga will be great for you.  Also, try applying heat, that will help loosen things up.  If you have any questions about yoga, let me know.

Hi Tinas,
Something that helps my neck and shoulders stay supple is a hot water bottle. It can be tricky sleeping with one in the bed. But what you can do is rest one on your shoulder and neck area while you watch TV. Theres also lots of masage oils and ointments which help. Tiger Balm or Deep Heat are two. Also when you shower have the water as hot as you can stand it. This has helped me a lot too. Anything heat related will relax your muscles. Stretching is great. Whenever I feel anxious I stretch. I've never tried Yoga but I'm going to give it a go! Keep hearing wonderful things about it. Smile

Tina,
All of the types of yoga (Hatha, Asthanga, flow, Bikrams) have beginner level classes.  I think that Hatha would be best for you right now, it will really help get rid of the tension.  I can suggest more information, just need to know more about you. E-mail me @ [email protected].

Talk to you soon,
Susanne
