I have just started having severe panic attacks again after going a couple of years without them.  It seems that after I have one bad attack, I am walking around in a fog feeling extremely hypervigilant, which only serves to invite another panic attack.  I don't know how to break out of this ongoing cycle.  I try redirecting my thoughts and activities but it's like that next panic attack is always just sitting on my shoulders just waiting to hit me out of nowhere.  Does anyone have any suggestions for things that have worked with you???  kathy

Hello,
My name is Jason. I just started having horribly severe panic attacks after years without them. What is working for me is to try to go on with my life as normally as possible. I am now also starting Klonopin and Zoloft. No matter how hard it is, STAY BUSY. You'll feel better and the panic/anxiety will get better!! You will win eventually. Jason

Jason,

Thank you for sharing your story and support with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at [email protected].  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Pleas continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.

Keep Strong,

Josie

Hello,
I have just went through some very difficult times with abuse occuring to my 5 year old daughter. I have had severe panic attacks and heart palpitations.  The
heart palpitations is what scares me the most. my physician said it is anxiety, but I don't want to start taking any meds. I feel scared all the time that I am going to die and have to leave my daughter. I really need some advice about these palpitations!

Hi empathy,

This is a common symptom often associated with anxiety and you definitely have your share of stress right now.  I would recommend that you follow up with your doctor.  Let them know that their explanation has not given you the reassurance that you need.  Some members have felt better about this symptom after having a few tests done to rule out other causes.  Did the doctor offer to send you for any testing? Maybe you could ask for further investigations just to be on the safe side, or to provide you with some answers.

Please let us know how you are doing.

Casey

Hello casey,
Thank you for replying, I have had alot of tests and was admitted in the hospital for 6 days. The Dr's said it was being overly anxious, Yet they still did't understand some of my symptoms like coughing when I get palpitations and feelig faint and my ears ring sometimes like I have a thousand locusts in them! They still think its anxiety, and I think I am the only one out there that has these symptoms. I went to an electrophysioligist and he said people have these all the time and put me on mexeltine. I read the side effects and stop taking them. Do you know anything about this medication.  Thanks so much for helping!
